Lesson 7:Butterflies.
For this lesson we listened to the story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle. We looked at photographs of real butterflies and talked a lot about symmetry. Then we created our butterflies using natural materials from our environment.

Lesson 5: Minibeast poems, recipes and mud kitchen work.
This week we listened to lots of poems about minibeasts. We then wrote our own mud kitchen recipe and took time outdoors to create our stews, pies and soups.
Lesson 4: Nature paint brushes
This week we used sticks along with other natural items from our school environment to make paint brushes. Then we had lots of fun painting with them!
Lesson 3 : Stick Dens
We hunted for sticks and then worked as a team to create our very own den for some small world characters!

We took our Literacy lesson outside! We read and discussed the story “Stanley’s Stick”, talked about alliteration, picked out letters (that were hidden in baskets of sticks) and then made our very own stick alphabet!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
