Week Beginning 28th September 2020

Each child will have Spellings and Mental Maths to practise this week for a check-up on Friday.

Your child has been given a purple homework book to complete the activities.

Literacy Task:

Last week we began to look at the structure of a sentence. We focused on Nouns. We used our guided reading books to identify nouns and then sorted them into groups. This week I would like you to revise this for your homework, I have included a range of work, you will have to sort, identify and use nouns.

  • Thursday will be our PE day depending on the weather.

Welcome to our homework page. Homework will be posted here each Monday.

In order to support our transition back to School, homework routines and activities will be introduced gradually over the next few weeks. My priority will be settling your child in and getting to know their needs.

As the children settle back, our normal routine will be that each child will have a Maths task and a Literacy task to be completely weekly. Some like to do a little bit each night, some prefer to do it all on a night that suits their family life.

In addition to this your child will have a learning homework (Mental Maths and Spellings), these should be practised daily. They will have a check-up each Friday.

With regards to correcting your child’s homework etc., I would pick one or two words they are misspelling and ask them to correct only those.

In order to support your child with the completion of homework activities, please ensure that they are equipped with the following items:

  • Pencils
  • Sharpener
  • 30 cm ruler
  • Colours of some sort (colouring pencils or crayons or markers)
