Today we celebrated our P7 Leavers’ Assembly which was a truly fantastic and memorable occasion for all involved. We were treated to a wide range of performances which truly illustrated what a talented and fun loving bunch they are.
As they prepare to move on to the next stage of their education, we would like to wish each of our leavers every happiness and success in the future. We hope they will look back on their time in our school with nothing but happy memories.
We also extend our sincere thanks to all of our Leaver families for your continued support over the years. Your encouragement and partnership have played such an important role in helping our pupils reach this milestone.
Never forget you will always be part of St Colman's Bann.
Congratulations to all our winners!
It was a wonderful occasion where every child took part in a series of fun “carousel” activities, rotating through different stations full of creative challenges and opportunities for active, imaginative play.
Play is a vital part of a child’s development, and today’s celebration highlighted just how important it is. Through play, children develop key skills such as:
- Social skills – learning to cooperate, share, and communicate with others
- Emotional wellbeing – building confidence, resilience, and joy
- Physical development – improving coordination, strength, and overall health
- Creativity and imagination – exploring new ideas and solving problems in innovative ways
- Cognitive growth – enhancing focus, memory, and decision-making skills
Activities like today’s carousel allow children to experience a wide variety of play styles, encouraging them to discover their interests while developing these essential skills in a fun and engaging way.
Many thanks to Mrs McConville and Miss Gibney for planning today's event.
The children represented the school with great pride and both games were exhibitions of skill, commitment and sportsmanship.
What a fantastic Sports Day we had today! The weather stayed dry, which meant all events went ahead as planned, and the children were able to fully enjoy the day.
All of the children took part with great enthusiasm, and it was lovely to see so many smiles and to watch them cheering each other on throughout the activities.
Today, our school choir enjoyed a well deserved Pizza Party as a thank you for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Their commitment, enthusiasm, and talent have made such a difference, and they are truly an important part of our school community.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to Beth, our choir leader, for the incredible way she has guided and supported the choir. Her passion and leadership have led to such success, and we are so grateful for everything she has done.
Well done to everyone involved—what a fantastic year it has been for our choir!
The children represented the school with great pride and enthusiasm. Their positive attitude, resilience, and support for one another were evident in every match. It was particularly heartening to see such strong teamwork and encouragement among players, both on and off the pitch.
To mark this significant milestone, she was presented with a small token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. We wish her every happiness, good health, and many enjoyable years ahead in her well-deserved retirement.
We are incredibly proud of our school netball team, who represented us so brilliantly today in the area final. While they were narrowly beaten by a very strong Derrymacash side, their determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship were outstanding from start to finish.
The girls demonstrated resilience, skill, and a fantastic attitude throughout the match, and they should hold their heads high after such a closely fought contest. They continue to be wonderful role models for our school community, showing commitment, respect, and positivity both on and off the court.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Mrs McMeekin, who has given so generously of her time and energy to coach the team this year. Her dedication and encouragement have played a huge part in the team’s success and development.
Well done to all involved — we couldn’t be prouder!
To mark the clash of Down and Armagh in the Ulster Senior Championship, our Student Council organised a County Colour Jersey Day in order to raise money for new football nets for our school.
We had a brilliant day and raised a fantastic total of £291.30.
All your support is very much appreciated.
A huge thank you to Mrs Reavey who also volunteered!
Congratulations to our Student Council, who organised a fantastic Toy Sale in order to raise funds for Trocaire.
A fantastic opportunity to reuse, raise money for a great cause and most importantly have fun!
Congratulations to the P7 children who celebrated their Confirmation yesterday evening.
A sincere thank you to Father Brian for leading such a meaningful and uplifting celebration and to our school choir, whose singing added such warmth and spirit to the ceremony.
Most importantly, we want to congratulate our P7 children who were confirmed. You conducted yourselves with great maturity, respect, and pride. Each of you played your part beautifully, and we hope you will remember the occasion with joy for many years to come.
The children had a great time singing songs and enjoying their party food!!
